Hello Everyone,

I'm just curious if Dave's Server working again.

If not is there any time line as to when it might be up and running again.

Thanks.

Actually not at all.
I see nothing has changed and apparently what I call working is obviously very different to what you call working. :?

I have tried all of the fixes and nothing seems to change. :(
Hopefully one day things will work again.

Damn shame cause Antix was a kickass distro. :(

Disappointed.

Here are 5 different ways.
https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php ... 70#p409670

It is supposed to show in an update as package version 20017.3.14, but it appears that using a mirror or physical location is giving issues. If it shows this package version as being installed (and you still have the error) it will need to be removed, verify that / etc / apt / trusted.d / antix-archive-keyring does not exist and then reinstall. This happens when the 'use package maintainers version ' question was answered no. Otherwise as noted in the above doc it is possible to retrieve the key without using the package.

It is hard to give advice without knowing the actual error... the problem WAS because of an expired gpg key. This key has been updated on the server, in the package, and pushed to keyring servers. However your original posts indicate that you are unable to connect... which would not be gpg related as the key being bad would only mean the packages cannot be verified and therefor asks for manual verification. Some of the noted issues are not really linked to an expired gpg key, as such it would be extremely nice to see the actual error.

I get the same errors listed in the earlier threads.

I volunteer teach a computer skills class at a drug / alcohol rehab center using Antix 16 on 30 donated old Windows XP desktops.
For now it is easier for myself and several others who also volunteer to reinstall and update using a different lightweight Linux distro.

Antix 16 worked great on the old Dell 2400s with their Pentium 4 (2.8 GHz) processors and 2.0 GB DDR ram.

I Apologize if I sounded unappreciative in any of my posts in this thread.

OK which error / thread / post?
I am not certain how to make it easier as all my machines worked with the apt-get update && apt-get -f install antix-archive-keyring; therefor I do not know how difficult it is. Going off of Rademes post it seems that it has the possibility of being quite difficult.
Did doing what he has done work?
You have tried each of the 5 options without any working?
Maybe you would like to download the keyring file itself and copy it over to /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/? (here is the keyring file: http://antix.daveserver.info/antix-archive-keyring.gpg)
Maybe a script to run through all the options (currently recorded) and answer yes it worked or no it did not?
I am kind of running blind; do you have a suggestion as to what to do?

Dave

After you download it. open terminal
Code:
jim@antix17-32:~
$ cd Downloads
jim@antix17-32:~/Downloads
$ ls
antix-archive-keyring_20017.3.14_all.deb
jim@antix17-32:~/Downloads
$ sudo gdebi antix-archive-keyring_20017.3.14_all.deb

I have already reinstalled another Linux distro as full updated secured working computers are needed
as all correspondence is done via the internet.

antix-archive-keyring is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.

Follow that with apt-get update

Of coarse synaptic shows the same errors. and shows version 20015.3.14

Same errors.

I downloaded from http://mx.debian.nz/antix/stable/pool/m ... e-keyring/
Once it was downloaded I opened terminal and used these steps
Code:
jim@antix17-32:~
$ cd Downloads
jim@antix17-32:~/Downloads
$ ls
antix-archive-keyring_20017.3.14_all.deb
jim@antix17-32:~/Downloads
$ sudo gdebi antix-archive-keyring_20017.3.14_all.deb

Once you have that, hit enter, enter your password , hit enter again and it installs. That is how Number 5 is done.
