debian package maintainers preserve any infofile provided by a program author
but, because debian (nor antiX) doesn't preinstall any viewer for these files, they are essentially undiscoverable/unusable.

The GNU "info" format is widely considered to be "baroque" and undesirable, compared to "man" manpage format.
Although the uncompressed content of the /usr/share/info/*.gz files is (mostly) readable in text editor, I've gained nothing by skimming their content... except to learn that their content is redundant with their manpage counterparts. FWIW, I installed debian package "info2man" and used info2pod command to check the presentation of the various info files. Eeeew, yuk! immediate uninstall.

so I'm recommending exclusion of
/usr/share/info/*.gz
via the build-iso template and adding that pattern to the persist n remastering exclude lists

fyi, the "info" command is supposed to view "info" files.

there is *a lot* of duplication betweein info and man pages, that's for sure. :)

a belated post just to clarify my original point.

Because debian package "info" (plus dependency package "install-info") is not pre-installed in AntiX,
users have no means to view those /usr/share/info/* files
