Hello,everybody
Since I used Anti13.2,I never used ControlCenter to start Synaptic (GUI),(since the install between June and December 2013)
-I just write apt-get update and apt-get dist-upgrade into Roxterm,every day or twice.
-In CC, I write my "su" password has in demand into the window ,(my admi password is correct ,because I can start all other tools who need it,into the CC; and also in a terminal from $ to #).Some windows "blinks" one time and nothing happen(not opening any windows?)
-I did sudo dpkg --configure -a,has I have seen somewhere in that forum,but nothing happen better.
Is anybody an idea?
Thanks all. :shock:

Launch a terminal emulator & from commandline, type gksu synaptic
If the synaptic package manager app fails to launch, you should see in terminal an error message detailing "what went wrong".

If `gksu synaptic` from terminal is successful, I would suggest re-installing the antiX controlCenter package.
Afterward, retry using controlCenter to launch synaptic to check whether the launcher within cc is now working.

Also to add to what skidoo posted. What happens when you do

Code:
$ sudo apt-get -f install

Hi guys,thanks for your help

@rotkitnji: nothing happen,see below:

Code:
$ sudo apt-get -f install
[sudo] password for bibfricotin:
Lecture des listes de paquets... Fait
Construction de l'arbre des dépendances
Lecture des informations d'état... Fait
0 mis à jour, 0 nouvellement installés, 0 à enlever et 0 non mis à jour.

@skidoo: see the answer of my commandline:

Code:
$ gksu synaptic
sh: 1: lsb_release: not found
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'Xapian::DatabaseError'
Aborted

"gksu synaptic" launch the window (the same when I try to launch Packages Management in CC), where I write my root password,but nothing happen

Code:
$ sudo synaptic
[sudo] password for bibfricotin:
sh: 1: lsb_release: not found
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'Xapian::DatabaseError'

with this command-line the window for password does'nt open

Is those answers helps you?How to re-installing the ControlCenter with the comandline? May I remove Synaptic first,how to do without "break" my distro.
Do I need Package Management,if in command-line I get the same result?
I thing,I have difficulties to understand difference between both.

Hmmmm. Xapian errors?

Code:
apt search xapian

Just to check what is and is not installed as far as xapian goes on your 13.2 install.

Code:
inxi -Fxz -r

So we can see your install and repos used.

By the way. It is a very good thing "sudo apt-get -f install" returned nothing with no errors. It means your dist-upgrade went fine.

Use the code button under advanced reply when posting terminal readouts. It just forum etiquette and is polite to responders to your questions.

Just copy and paste readout between the brackets after hitting the code button under advanced reply. I have been cleaning up your posts till now.

flocon54, you mentioned that you have never used synaptic. Obviously we don't "need" synaptic, it's just available as a GUI convenience.

Similarly, if synaptic is installed, it doesn't "need" the apt-xapian-index component.
That component just provides an additional convenience when performing searches from within the synaptic GUI.

Due to the huge size of the generated apt-xapian database index file, some liveboot distros omit apt-xapian-index.
(As I recall, antiX 13.2 did not preinstall apt-xapian-index.)
Users may freely install/uninstall the apt-xapian-index component if they wish.

recommended steps to fix synaptic on your system:
sudo apt-get purge apt-xapian-index
(it is not needed, and you can optionally install it later, after synaptic is working)

sudo apt-get purge synaptic && apt-get install synaptic
Afterward, again try "gksu synaptic" from commandline.
If synaptic launches successfully from commandline, close synaptic and followup by testing whether you are now able to also launch synaptic via the controlCenter.

Hi, thanks skidoo

Just to know me:
I am French (first difficulty) ,and only "user",I don't install anything on my distro,I need just browser with flash or HTML5,PDF reader,text editor,and access to usb key or HDD. and I think to maintain "distro or distrib" is enough difficult for doing those things;I use others applications when needed or to explore carefully.
I never try to install packages without asking or learning exactly what to do. So I didn't nothing since the "liveCDinstall" .I try not distroy my distro and keep it healthy.
I think apt-xapian-index was installed from the liveCD installation,I found it in:var/cache and /var/lib, I didn't install it
I 'll try or not your recommended steps (if I don't really need synaptic GUI),but I understand what you tell me.THANK you very much.
