As of today, do not blindly hit the Enter button or you will find yourself with a broken system that may not be repairable.

There are some big recent changes in debian sid so I didn't want to dist-upgrade and replace the antiX nosystemd versions. Is that the reason for holding off the sid updates?

Is sid broken permanatly or is the problem temporary?

I am switching from sid to testing. Is testing safe from the sid problems?

I'm curious to know whether the differing gcc versions (stable is 4.9, sid is 6.2) create permanent incompatibilities.
