Thanks guys.

I started posting in the other thread for the networking.

Anyhow, although I really like how this distro runs, I'm getting the feeling that I'm in over my head ...

Stick with it. At first it might seem overwhelming but soon you will find it's really not bad. You just have to get used to editing text files instead of point and click. This is how Linux was ment to be used. You will learn how manipulate the OS itself and make work the way you use it.

LOL!! I get that feeling all the time! Smile This is the best place to be for "Being in over your head!". FYI, networking in Linux (although some would disagree) is NOT an easy thing to do. If you run one of the bigger distros (Ubuntu, Suse, PCLOS, Mandriva etc) which use either Gnome or KDE, then a lot of the Network hassle is taken care of for you, and is made a lot easier. But if you run a lighter setup, then it gets progressively harder the "Lighter" you get. ...... at least that's how it seems to me anyway. That's why i haven't bothered to setup my network here yet. I keep putting it off because, in my admittedly somewhat limited experience, it never seems to go smoothly.

But it does work, eventually. Smile

Thanks for the support guys, I will keep at it.

One of the interesting things I have noticed about this distro is I don't get the screen tearing like I do with the others I have tried on the system. This board has an Intel chipset but the video is SIS.
I got it running without tearing in Mint and Ubuntu by using VESA but it doesn't seem to be required with antix. Mepis 7 also had tearing BTW.

I also find it very fast compared to the others.
