Postby anticapitalista on Fri May 09, 2008 2:17 am

antiX-M7.2 goes final!

At the moment, you can get it from these sites, either as antiX-M7.2 (full), antiX-M7.2-base or as an xdelta patch if you have preview2.

The Mepis mirrors have the iso's

antiX-M7.2.iso is about 360MB
antiX-M7.2-base.iso is about 186MB
antiX-M7.2-preview2-final.xdelta patch is about 105MB

This version is codenamed: VETËVENDOSJE!
and has more community input than previous antiX releases. Thanks to all who contributed, tested and/or gave support.

Enjoy antiX-M7.2 - VETËVENDOSJE!

YES!!! 8) Nice one anticapitalista - i'm downloading now and will be firing up a fresh version tomorrow. Looking forward to it. :D

BTW, the name sounds almost Russian (Well, it does the way i pronounce it).... what does it mean? What's it's origin?

Edit: Scratch that, just googled it, and apparently it's "Self Determination" in Serb? (Or is it Albanian?) Great name though, and sounds really impressive when spoken with a thick Russian type accent. :)

It's Albanian for Self-Determination. It is also the name of a group/movement in Kosovo.
See in antiX-M7.2 docs folder.

Does the base have all the wireless stuff? I have some bandwidth limitations. What would be missing other than user apps?

It looks like it only has MEPIS Network Assistant.

Is the version from http://downloads.tuxfamily.org/antix/released/ borked? It is 30 mbs less than it should be and just drops me into grub on boot.

I downloaded it and looked around a little bit. So many improvements - I'm impressed. The new menu layout is superb, good choice of apps (as always), etc. I may work on the icewm side of things for awhile. If you're interested, I could sen you my menu (modified only mirror the fb menu), some suggested themes and walls, etc. Let me know. I really would like to see icewm customized as well. Thanks.

Thanks OU812.

I definitely need help with icewm customisation. I hardly ever use it, though I do think it is a very under-rated wm.
Just pm me with your ideas or email me antiX at operamail dot com.
