I've now installed Preview 1 on my Core 2 Duo laptop, and it's the fastest OS i think it's ever seen! Smile

But with regards to upgrading etc, i've just followed the guide for 7.1 (Number 2: Using Debian Sid (Unstable)) and apart from a few errors as i was doing it, it all seems to be working perfectly (Apart from the WiFi which i'll discuss in another post).

Is it correct to have followed the same procedure as 7.1 or has it changed at all? (Just checking to be sure).

Thanks.....

Should be the same procedure.

Don't enable the sidux repos though. (unless you wish to sidux your antiX box. This is purely experimental and not supported by sidux). I should really remove the entry.

What errors are you getting?

Too late, it's already been done! Smile Here's my sources.list at the moment.....
Code:

# See sources.list(5) for more information

# This file should be edited through synaptic

###MEPIS: Use for kernel upgrades and nvidia/ati drivers only###
#deb ftp://ftp.mepis.com/mepis/ mepis-7.0 main

#deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/ stable main contrib non-free
#deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/ testing main contrib non-free

#deb-src http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/ stable main contrib non-free

#deb http://security.debian.org/ stable/updates main contrib non-free

# mplayer
#deb http://www.debian-multimedia.org etch main
#deb http://www.debian-multimedia.org testing main

######Debian Unstable/Sid##########
deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/ unstable main contrib non-free
deb http://www.debian-multimedia.org unstable main
###sidux###
deb http://sidux.com/debian/ sid main contrib non-free firmware fix.main fix.contrib fix.non-free
deb http://people.linux.org.tw/~pcman/debian/ ./

That last entry is because i've just installed LXDE (to try it out & see how it feels on this setup).

Mainly something to do with "slocate" but i can't remember exactly what it said. Doesn't seem to stop it running though & it all pretty much seems to be OK. Smile

Be very careful with the sidux repos, DJINN.

Yes, unstable is sid. The sidux repo will add apps from sidux. Not necessarily bad as sidux is 100% debian sid compatible.

I did a Debian sid dist-upgrade on a newly installed antiX-M7.2-preview2 and got the same slocate errors. As you say, it doesn't stop antiX working, but it should be fixed.
If I find out, I'll post here.

Edit: apt-get install mlocate will fix it (and remove slocate in the process)
