For 32 and 64 bit, 'normal' and gnu, 3.8.0 kernels available in the repos.

On my box, there were no issues installing Virtualbox (non-ose) via svmi (unlike with kernel 3.7.8) and latest nvidia driver installed via sgfxi (or you may need sgfxi -f).

This is a really newbie question, but the antix repos are in my sources and yet I don't see an option to install an antix kernel using smxi.

Is there are another way?

thanks.

I tried dpkg --install for the 64 bit kernel and was told that it did not match my system (386). Yet I know I have and amd 64 chip.

Machine: System: Dell (portable) product: Inspiron 1721
Mobo: Dell model: 0UK441 Bios: Dell version: A07 date: 04/21/2008
CPU: Dual core AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile TL-60 (-MCP-) cache: 1024 KB flags: (lm nx pae sse sse2 sse3 svm)
Clock Speeds: 1: 800.00 MHz 2: 800.00 MHz

What should I do to install the new kernel?

thanks.

pedro, try with apt.

apt-get update
apt-get install linux-headers-3.8.0-antix.1-amd64-smp linux-image-3.8.0-antix.1-amd64-smp

You are using the 64 bit version of antiX aren't you?

If not you will have to use the 32 bit kernel

apt-get install linux-headers-3.8.0-antix.1-486-smp linux-image-3.8.0-antix.1-486-smp

I can't use it on the M&A companion Netbook Anti. It loads the wireless usb driver OK. But wicd won't find wireless networks of any sort. And here are some error messages Ceni spitted out.

Code:
FATAL: Module p80211 not found
Failed to load p80211.ko.
n180211n: could not set interface wlan0 up
Wext; could not set interface wlan0.

3.6.11 and 3.'7.8 kernels are OK with

Code:

What happens when you update your graphics driver?
