Open a terminal and type in

Code:
cd /tmp

hit enter

Code:
sux

hit enter. Then type in password and hit enter.

Then do the dpkg -i command to install the .deb . Reboot after installing the .deb. Then after bootup rin ifconfig -a again to see if wireless usb is turned on.

Are you sure that is where the deb is?
Files in tmp are removed on reboot.
