X isnt running.

Postby envytea on Mon Dec 17, 2007 8:37 pm

Hey all,
I am running antix 6.5 on a dell latitude, 466 celeron. All was great, until my motherboard got some problems, and I changed up some hardware. I swapped the motherboard, keyboard, touchpad with another cpt latitude. When I start up, my x wont run. There are all sorts of messages, depending on what I try to do. Starting X says "no screen found". Firefox says "no display", etc... So, I guess I need to reconfigure my xorg.conf file? Right? I am not sure what to change. I'd like to get a program that might do the configuration automatically, but I can manually as well. Any ideas? Luckily, antix has links2 on board, so I can still get on the internet!
BTW... I found the second latitude at chicago freegeeks space. I'll be posting a link to their site in the cafe later. Y'all should check out their business. It's really pretty awesome. I'll give more details later.

Thanks in advance. Any help would be much appreciated. Okay, I am off to work....
