Quick status report

Postby anticapitalista on Fri Nov 23, 2007 12:15 am

This is just a quick status report of where antiX stands at the moment.

9 July 2007: antiX-Mepis6.5 "Spartacus" released. (no longer actively developed)

29 October 2007: antiX-M7 "Lysistrata" released. (active)

19 November 2007: antiX-base released for testing. (active)

22 November 2007: antiX-xfce-alpha1 released for testing. (active)

antiX-M7 is still being actively developed in all three branches mentioned above. Basically this means upgrading from the repos (Mepis and Debian), improvements and enhancements of the antiX scripts (written by UnicornRider), changes in appearance ie wallpaper, themes etc, and work on a k5/k6/PII MMX compatible kernel (still in early stages).

I aim to provide an upgraded antiX.iso regularly to keep it up-to-date in terms of repos. How often is the question.
Suggestions?
Please join in.

Edit: Added information.

28 December 2007 antiX-M7.01 and antiX-M7.01-base released

Since you are the primary with Antix I suggest you update as your time allows unless there is a reason for restricting yourself to a cycle.
