Anti the qt4 tools to translate the files bring 142 MB of stuff with them in antiX. Is there any other tool that's compatible with antiX to do this job?

anti, what's 'Desktop firewall'? Does it just mean a firewall with GUI?

I think so.
There should be an old pt_BR .ts file somewhere that would make the job a lot easier and quicker. marcos at mepislovers might have it. Send him a pm and he'll be able to give you some help/advice as well.
I think he did the Spanish translation.

I've posted an update for minstall in mepislovers.
I've installed test 3 in VirtualBox (running fromiso looked horrible and some things didn't work). It looked really good but antiX in VB is awfully slow here (maybe because it's a Debian guest over a Debian host, I guess), so I didn't fiddle with it too much.
I can post a customized translation of minstall for antiX based on your changes, anti, only I don't know all the files you changed (VB offers just one hd and I didn't fiddle much with the installer cos, besides being slow, the first time I tried installing it aborted - I must have pressed 'Abort' button without knowing).
So, if you can post where did you change MEPIS for antiX in the installer, I will post here the translated zip file. Otherwise I will do a guess based on the places I annotated that you changed.

Changed MEPIS for antiX in those files you had changed (mostly those directly related to the installation process and for menu.lst). Also I put BRT instead of EST for the time that the cd defaulted to. (since I booted it in VB I'm not sure if it was set by the system or the cd defaults)
