For the moment do not dist-upgrade as a ibqt3-mt upgrade will cause apps to crash.

thanks for the heads up. I just saw that in Synaptic. Being thats it's qt will it just affect kde apps?

No it doesn't only affect kde apps, surprisingly.
Virtualbox has crashed, mplayer, vlc and iceweasel all caused a frozen screen here.
