i have searched the Net and tried to understand and read a lot of posts
in various linux online articles...

but i am still confused

antiX has picked up the correct scanner

one site says that sane does not need firmware.. for this 1270 scanner

others say .. it is esfw3e.bin ... but i have no idea where to get this...

found usb scanner..... (vendor=0x04b8 [Epson], product=0x0120 [Epson scanner]

at libusb:001:005

scanimage -L

no scanners were identified...

another time i saw a msg that told me i do not have permission

so i changed to root....

in the terminal...

so what do i do now?
