Hi , reading articles about linux . depends what you read. some articles down linux other gives linux 5 stars. Some people opinions scare me.

Saying linux can never going to beat windows. To me Linux has window beat in almost all areas. To me the gaming market is what linux lack .

Linux has variety. 70% why i love linux over windows.
Without variety is saying if I don't like pizza. Then no one should have it.
There can never be a perfect window manger or distro . Someone going to love it and other are going to hate it. Some people just want to be different or is the grass greener on the other side. How do i feel today. So many reason.

I love the lite window manger.
icewm , fluxbox , openbox , lxde are cool.
Each has there pros.

I didn't like gnome . It look like an office to me
Kde look nice but it require alot.
Jwm . Maybe it just me. But this one is to lite and just plain.

Howdy and Welcome drakemagi. I use Flux, LXDE,Gnome and Icewm. More as a learning experience for me than anything else. Could never sync with KDE to well though, Got around JWM ok though when I used Puppy. I run the lighter Desktops on Hardware that require it, Glad that I have the choice to do so.

For me, Linux lacks interfacing with engine modules. Not Linuxes fault. All engine software is only for Windows and high priced to boot compared to games and unlike games is a run once software.

Any hows, nice to meet cha.
