Howdy and Welcome djtilko. The guys here are very helpful when it comes to questions. I've ran and installed AntiX 8.2 testing on a flash SD Card on My Asus EEEpc. I wiped the drive to install 8.2 final on it but am having hardware problems with USB freezing after 8.2 loads up. Still working on that one.

Is your Acer the 120 gig sata hardrive or is it the SSD One?

HI rokytngi yes mines the 120 gig hard drive version, I had the 8 gig ssd model too but sold it for this one! in some ways the 8 gig model was faster but not always.

My prefered distro is sidux and has been for a while now, but Ive formatted the drive into 2 partitions and thought I would take a look at Anitx loaded it using Unetbootin on a USB Stick and installed it just to play about with as sidux is just so damn reliable!

Anyways I will have plenty of questions over the coming weeks or months so see you around this forum!

Hello djtilko:

Welcome to Antix! I installed AntiX in an Acer one similar to yours and it's running great. Enjoy the distro, and post away any questions.

Regards,
Pedro

New to Linux here on a 500 intel 256 Ram laptop from 1999 working a lot faster than W2K faster even than Win98SE. With a lot more functionality and fun

Got to grips now with Samba and fusesmb and can access my XP box.

Very impressed with antiX 8.2and wanting to duelboot the XP box with Linux.

only thing XP box is used for now is Video editing and Photoshop so may downgrade it to W2K.

regards

Howdy and Welcome eosrobuk. I use Windows 2000 pro dualboot on this IBM T23.

Only thing I use 2K for is Tuning Harley Davidsons.
