Hello Everyone, thought I would say hi since this is my first post on an Antix forum. While I am not new to lLinux I am new to Antix. Although my understanding is that Mepis and Antix are pretty much the same thing. My relative experience using Linux has been about 5 years on and off. My latest experience has been with Sidux . Though my experiences with Sidux had been pretty good. I have older computer and decided to run Antix on it. Also have experience with Ubuntu which was basically bad experience. Well I thought I would introduce myself hope to be on here a long time with my Antix Box.

Welcome to antiX. If you liked sidux then you can basically sidux/sid-ize your antix as I have done. It works extremely well and fast.

I share your opinion with *buntu.

Welcome to the forum. I have Ubuntu 8.04 on another partition and actually like it. AntiX is much faster, so I prefer it.

Greetings, n3v3r_m0r3, and welcome to the antiX forum! Like you, I am a sidux and antiX fan, and I also like SimplyMEPIS to have handy as a simple, stable system, though I do not run into problems with either sidux or antiX. I enjoy using a wide variety of systems. Today I was using the real Debian Lenny, and it, too, is an excellent system. I was running it first with fvwm_crystal, which is an extended version of fvwm, fast and capable, then I ran it with XFCE, both of which run real well on my Gateway PA6A 17" portable.

I am originally from Michigan and I have relatives in suburban Chicago. I now live in Concord, New Hampshire, which is about 70 miles, North-Northwest of Downtown Boston.
