With great pleasure, antiX-M7.5 (392 MB) is now available for download from the mepisimo site.

http://www.mepisimo.com/antix/

and tuxfamily.org

http://downloads.tuxfamily.org/antix/released

Hopefully, it will be available from MEPIS mirrors soon.
antiX-M7.5-base (c210 MB) is also available for those users who want to build from a basic install.
For those that have antiX-M7.5-test1 or test2 iso's you can patch them via the xdelta patches also made available. (see MEPIS wiki for help)

Release notes for Toussaint Louverture. (antiX-M7.5)

This release concentrates on 3 main areas.

1. Customised icewm.
2. antiX Control Centre.
3. smxi script integration.

All three options were from community input to make antiX as user-friendly
and flexible as possible.

1. Fully customised icewm.
antiX-M7.5 is probably the best configured OOTB icewm distro, thanks to the
great work by OU812. Icewm in antiX-M7.5 works as a fully functioning and
stylish desktop, with tools to customise as the user wishes.

2. antiX Control Centre.
Inspired by the Control Centre in TinyMe, OU812 developed one for antiX.
Users can now carry out desktop, admin, networking and hardware related
tasks from one central control centre.

3. smxi script integration.
Thanks to h2, the smxi script can be used in antiX. This script enables
users to keep their antiX rolling along and fully maintained. This has
allowed antiX to be incredibly flexible (even more so the antiX-base version)
If users wish they can 'sidux' or 'sid' their system, install newer kernels
from Debian and sidux, install graphics drivers (ATI and nVidia), install
other desktop environments such as xfce, kde, and install virtualbox and
lots more!

Main upgrades from VETËVENDOSJE!(antiX-M7.2)

*abiword version 2.6.4
*abiword plugins added
*iceweasel 3
*Rox-filer 2.7
*python 2.5
*eeepc-acpi-modules and scripts added
*mybashburn added

*pcmanfm filer added
*icemc added
*ario replaces gmpc
*abscreen (from absolute linux) added

and icewm configuration.

Post comments, problems here.

For users that have antiX-M7(0.1), antiX-M7.2 already installed, you can upgrade to antiX-M7.5 by using the antiX-upgraders script:

http://www.mepisimo.com/antix/antiX-upgrader

Download to your home/user folder, make executable and run as root in a terminal
./antiX-upgrader.sh

Please read the script carefully. It is pretty basic, but it gets the job done. Fully upgrading from antiX-M7 or antiX-M7.2 will install approx. 330MB of upgrades.

Have fun!

Congratulations. Many thanks to everyone involved. Another great piece of work.

Now what.

Side note: I just installed XFCE4 on top of 7.5. It works perfectly. I been playing with OU812's scripts trying to integrate them into XFCE. I will let you know how it goes. I might do a remaster if some one wants it.

Is it supposed to be ./antiX-upgrader.sh ?

Yes, you download the file antiX-upgrader.sh, make it executable, and run it as root with either
./antiX-upgrader.sh
or
sh antiX-upgrader.sh

@anti: Congratulations! :)

Whoops, yes, antiX-upgrader.sh.

antiX-base needs to be re-uploaded. It should be available in an hour or so.

Congratulations to Anti and, John, and everyone who worked together to make this a great release! I am excited about running it and I hope to do an upgrade on a system that is running 7.2 and try out our final effort, then I will later be upgrading the systems on which I previously did testing.

Great work everyone!

Hmm, pcmanfm is not installed. (Didn't notice that, well spotted ICE-M)

apt-get install pcmanfm

You should be able to remove the gnome-icon-theme if you wish.

thanks anti. i installed pcmanfm and i removed the icons 20mg of unnecessary stuff.

i don't want to be annoying but in /home/user/Documents/antiX-FAQ_JB.html this question is still repeating: I want to configure my monitor--how do I do that? (this time a friend noticed that) :P

i'm so grad that mplayer skin works again. love all the links in bookmarks i'll read them all tonight. i still have that text problem in abiword and don't know how to search for answers on the net if anyone finds a solution please tell me.

great work everyone! all of the new features of antix 7.5 are awsome!

edit: glad that the /home icon in rox is the good one but it dosen't change when i change the icon pack

I posted on the bugs part that if when I installed nvidia driver (maybe also ati), upgraded mplayer, all was ok.

About the doc repeat, we'll call that a feature! LOL

About the home icon. You need to edit that file in config/rox. It's in the forum somewhere. If you don't use rox pinboard at all, then it will changing theme will work properly for all folders.

IMPORTANT-PLEASE DO NOT DOWNLOAD antiX-M7.5.iso for an hour or so.

I am uploading a newer iso file. The older version didn't come with pcmanfm installed so clicking on files in fluxbox menu does nothing. There was also a double entry in the FAQ so I thought, as it is still early days and before Warren announcement, to upload a newer iso.

If you have the old one, you can simply install pcmanfm (if you wish) or remove the entry from the fluxbox menu.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

I ran the update procedure. It is not clear that it actually upgraded me from 7.2 to 7.5, but it did upgrade some software and it did not break anything, but neither did it actually change the version identifiers. Could not really tell what happened, but perhaps I will try that avenue with one of the other systems I have.

I have now downloaded the full ISO and I intend to install IT on my newest laptop. I will come back and revisit the system upgrade from 7.2 to 7.5 on one of my older systems - one that already has the smxi stuff in place.

I will report on both findings later.

Meanwhile, I congratulate the team once again on the fine effort and look with great anticipation to running antiX systems in several different spins - the full ISO with extensions on the new hardware, and various tests and tweaks on the old hardware. The message I bring, based on what I have already tried is that you can go either way with antiX - turn it into a big system, a hybrid of antiX, sidux, and MEPIS technologies, or run it as a lean, mean fighting machine that can run on stuff that was invented when I had a lot more hair on top of my head! :-)

You can run antiX as a very stable system or you can run it as a cutting edge system, and both approaches work extremely well. Call it extensible, call it innovative, but definitely call it something that just works!

Very well done indeed!

antiX-M7.5.iso is ok now.
The bugs found by ICE-M were squashed and I oploaded a 'fixed' iso.

masinick, you should notice the new antiX Control Centre and if you login/toggle to icewm a completely different set up.
If it isn't noticeably different, download antiX-upgrader.sh again and try again.
