acer aspire one no wifi

Postby andymaxwell on Sun Sep 27, 2009 12:06 am

Hi guys, new to Antix, currently on Zenwalk which is pretty cool. I like the more cutdown features of Antix and would like to use IceWm more.

I cant seem to get my wifi working on my aspire one. It uses an atheros chipset. When i modeprobe ath5k and ath-pci neither of them seem to work. Can anyone help? I am a relative newbie to linux and can't work out what to do next.

I am using Antix M8.2

My Asus EEE PC uses Atheros 5007 chipset.

All you need to do to get wireless is to

Open Wicd Network Manager program, click preferences menu then under the external programs tab change DHCP Client from automatic to dhclient.
